Aeroflot Cargo gave a European presentation on the company's new products and servieces on the 24th of July , 2008. Aeroflot Cargo was the first Russian airline to add the MD-11F airplane to its fleet. The plane is new brand to the Russian civil aviation. MD-11 Freighter was first introduced by Boeing in 1995 and is based on MD-11 passenger planes (produced from 1988 to 2000). As many as 53 MD-11F airplanes have been built so far and over one hundred of them have been converted from passenger planes to freighters. The MD-11F provides the capacity for more than 90 ton-gross payloads with the nonstop range of 6000 kilometers at maximum commercial payload. 'That's a really important event both for Aeroflot Cargo and Russian air transportation industry on the whole, as MD-11F has a real competitive edge on the market. It meets all the demands of the present-day market and can rival the world's leading freighting companies. In terms of efficiency and profitability MD-11F is on par with such freighters as Boeing 747-400 or even Boeing 777F. MD-11F to a large extent satisfies the demands of the route network of Aeroflot Cargo. Large-capacity HAHN-Sheremetyevo flights will be daily' - says Oleg Korolev, General Director of Aeroflot Cargo.
Besides,Aeroflot Cargo is the first Russian cargo airline to buy Boeing 737-300F. Currently the company operates two of such aircrafts. In the near future Aeroflot Cargo will use Il-96-400T for its freight flights as well. ‘Ilyushin Finance Company’ will deliver the first three Il-96-400T's to Aeroflot Cargo as early as 2008. Il-96-400T's gross payload capacity is 92 tons, with nonstop range of 5500 at full payload. Aeroflot Cargo will receive its first Il-96-400T this August.
