China had 175 airports last year, compared with 166 airports in 2009, which handled 5.57 million tonnes of cargo that were transported by air in 2010, up 25 percent year-on-year versus the 4.5 million tonnes handled in 2009.

 

Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) head Li Jiaxiang said the CAAC estimated that the Chinese air transport industry will ship 300 million passengers and 6.2 million tons of cargo this year. The industry recorded 43.7 million yuan profit last year, compared with 12.2 million yuan profit in 2009.
