Dragonair welcomes further liberalism of air services to the mainland and India Print

Dragonair welcomed the conclusion to the latest round of consultation on the Mainland/Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Air Services Arrangement to further liberalise the aviation market between Hong Kong and the Mainland by signing a new memorandum of understanding.

Dragonair Chief Executive Officer Kenny Tang said: “The newest development will help Hong Kong further enhance its status as the premium gateway to Mainland China, and it also provides opportunities for Dragonair to further grow its already strong connectivity and well-built network to the Mainland.”

Dragonair also welcomed the successful conclusion of air services talks between the Hong Kong and Indian governments that will see a significant liberalisation in passenger services between the two places.

The new air services agreement will allow additional services to Delhi and Mumbai as well as the commencement of passenger services to Bangalore and Chennai.

“This new agreement will be a significant boon for the Hong Kong hub and we must compliment the Hong Kong SAR Government on working to achieve a successful outcome,” said Dragonair Chief Executive Officer Kenny Tang. “The air services deal is an exciting development for Hong Kong aviation and we at Dragonair look forward to fulfilling a long-held wish to enter the Indian market.”
