A daily direct flight from Beijing to Lhasa began on Friday, reducing travel time by nearly two hours between the two cities, China Daily reported, citing an Air China official.
An Air China official said previous flights from Beijing to Lhasa stopped at Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, with a travel time totaling five hours and 40 minutes.
The new flight will leave Beijing at 7 am and arrive at Lhasa at 10:50 am.
